Intro

Hey,

My name is Joey Green. In January 2023 I left the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church (PBCC) or as they were formerly known the Exclusive Brethren. When I left I not only left the cult but I also left behind my family and friends. I had to rebuild my life and social circle. Thankfully I had friends and family on the outside who greeted me with open arms. Most of all I'm thankful I had my therapist there with me through it all. 

Navigating this new world is not without its challenges, including discovering my identity and orientation. I'm here to share my experience as someone born and raised in a strict conservative Christian sect. Follow along here to learn more about the PBCC and my journey.

  The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church (PBCC) formerly known as the Exclusive Brethren originated in 19 th century Plymouth England. A small gathering of dissatisfied Anglicans began gathering and forming their own fellowship. They claim to have rejected the ecclesiastical arrangement or the clerical hierarchy and focus on personal relationships with God. So far, they have had seven leaders or “Men of God”. What is the Doctrine of Separation

 The PBCC follow what they call the doctrine of separation. The scriptures they base this on are from the John Nelson Darby New Translation Bible.  John 17 v 14 I have given them thy word, and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, as I am not of the world.  Matthew 16 v 24-26 Then Jesus said to his disciples, If any one desires to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
